About

About 87 R&D

In 1987, stereolithographic (SLA) 3D printing was first commercialized, changing the ways creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs develop new technologies. Nearly 40 years later, most of the products we use are not designed or manufactured in the United States. Our goal is to support the growth of U.S.-based design and manufacturing through partnerships that span both domestic and global communities.

Product Development

Product development is approached through a structured, cross‑functional process that covers concept ideation, feasibility analysis, detailed design, rapid prototyping, and rigorous testing. The focus is on translating ideas into viable, manufacturable solutions while optimizing performance, cost, and time‑to‑market.

Case Studies (coming soon)

Our case studies include a portfolio of completed projects, illustrating problem statements, engineering solutions, and quantified results. Each study highlights the challenges addressed, the methodology employed, and the impact achieved—providing tangible evidence of expertise and success.
